Many of the most important trade fairs, such as bauma, take place in Munich. Major international corporations such as Google, Microsoft and Apple also have their German headquarters here. Few cities in the world offer such a wide range of options for organising an event. From a trip on a raft with 5 participants to an event in a stadium with 50,000 participants, everything can be done. Whether modern or traditional, typically Bavarian or international - any event is possible. Here at munich-event.com you will find (almost) everything you are looking for when preparing a corporate event in Munich. Not just bands and musicians in Munich, but all the services and products that are important for a successful event.Did you know?
Munich is the capital of Bavaria, on the Isar river, in the foothills of the Alps, with (2019) 1.5 million inhabitants. In addition to the University and the Technical University, Munich has numerous universities and museums (including the Deutsches Museum, Alte and Neue Pinakothek). As the home of scientific research institutions (Max Planck Society, Fraunhofer Society), art academies, drama schools, state opera and theatre, Munich is one of the most important educational and cultural centres in Germany.
The city is an extremely important business centre with a focus on the service sector (banks, insurance companies, high-tech companies, media industry). Several railway lines and motorways converge in Munich; a major modern airport is located in Erdinger Moos.
The numerous sights include the late Gothic Frauenkirche, whose towers are the city's landmark, the baroque Theatinerkirche, the Residenz (16th-19th century) with the Antiquarium, Nymphenburg Palace (begun in 1663) with the Amalienburg (1734-39) and important classicist buildings (including the Propyläen). The English Garden and Hellabrunn Zoo are popular excursion destinations. The congress and trade fair city holds a top position in Germany in terms of tourism, partly due to the annual Oktoberfest. The 1972 Summer Olympics were held in Munich.
Founded in 1157/58 by Henry the Lion as a market town, Munich was the residence of the Wittelsbach dynasty from 1255 to 1918.
